Hello and welcome to the African Heritage Nexus podcast — where we explore the many layers of African cultural heritage through the voices of practitioners, researchers, creatives, and community custodians across the globe.

My name is Seun Adeniyi, and while I wear the hat of a cultural heritage practitioner myself, I approach this space not as an expert — but as a curious mediator. A listener. A connector of stories, people, and ideas.

African Heritage Nexus is more than a podcast. It’s a growing platform aimed at fostering dialogue, sharing knowledge, and building collaborations across the cultural heritage sector. It’s for the archivist in the library, the artist in the studio, the archaeologist in the trench, the elder with oral history to share, an enthusiast, and the youth reimagining our heritage through art, tech, fashion, and film.

This podcast is our way of making sense of the vast, complex, and beautiful landscape of African heritage — both on the continent and across the diaspora.

Each episode will feature conversations with scholars, practitioners, curators, community custodians, digital innovators, and heritage enthusiasts — across Nigeria, West Africa, Africa, and beyond—  delving into projects, research, lived experiences, and untold stories. We’ll discuss everything from conservation to sustainability, from museum practice to grassroots storytelling, from digitization to decolonization, conflict and memory, as well as collaboration and innovation, and what it takes to preserve the past while creating new pathways for the future.

What ties it all together is a single mission: to build a more connected, inclusive, and sustainable future for African cultural heritage.

Whether you’re a student of history, a professional in the field, or simply someone passionate about Africa, I invite you to join us on this journey. Tune in, share, and contribute to the dialogue. Together, let’s reimagine what heritage can mean in our time — and for future generations.

You can find us at africanheritagenexus.com, and follow us on all podcast platforms. If you’re working on a project, have an idea for a future episode or simply have a story to share, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s keep the conversation alive.

Thank you for listening!
